Do you memba the days of your youth, when you and a few family membas/friends would put on your own little concerts? Whatever song was hot at the moment suddenly became your Hot 100 hit. In 1998, R&B group Divine had one of those hits. The teenage trio comprised of Kia Thornton, Nikki Bratcher, and Tonia Tash released their first and only hit “Latley” weeks after they graduated high school. Divine did have one more release, a cover of George Michael’s “One More Try” that achieved moderate success. They disbanded in 2000 and nothing has been heard from them musically since. Thornton, however, did reemerge when she auditioned for the sixth season of American Idol. She was eliminated during the Hollywood rounds.
