Remember These?: This Is The Remix

Twenty years ago a 15-year old newcomer named Brandy enlisted legends MC Lyte, Yo-Yo, and Queen Latifah for the remix of her first hit single “I Wanna Be Down.” Both versions of the song are now classics and they sound as fresh today as they did when they was first released.

A couple of months ago, Queen Latifah set up a reunion of the four legends on her daytime talk show in celebration of the 20th anniversary of their legendary collaboration. Recently the taping of the 2014 Bet Hip-Hop Awards happened (10/14) and pictures were leaked of the four ladies on the stage together, presumably performing their classic hit.

After keeping that track on repeat for a solid hour straight, I started thinking about other remixes. The 90s contained some of the greatest remixes in music history, but what about the remixes of the 2000s that weren’t as great but were still bangers nonetheless. Here are a few remixes that may not go down as classics but they still kept the dance floor hyped.
